Northern Counties Ladies Golf Association home page

Welcome to the Northern Counties Ladies Golf Association website. Covering seven counties in the north of Scotland, our aim is to promote golf to ladies and juniors across our area. Read more about the Association here, see our fixture list here, keep up to date with our blog, or find out about joining here.

Who we are

The Northern Counties Ladies Golf Association was established in 1967.  It is an amalgamation of seven counties (Banff, Moray, Nairn, Inverness, Ross, Sutherland and Caithness) and covers a huge geographical area from Shetland in the North to Newtonmore in the South (359 miles) and from Skye in the West to Banff in the East (173 miles).

We have more than 60 affiliated clubs and try to play our fixtures across the area over a period of years. Please view a list of our clubs and delegates.

What we do

Our overall aim is to promote the game of golf to ladies and junior girls in the Northern Counties Area.  We aim to do that by

  • providing opportunities for junior girls and ladies to improve their golf by organisiing competitions to suit all levels and abilities.
  • increasng Northern Counties membership in all our clubs.
  • keeping members informed of events, competitions and developments within Northern Counties, and
  • promoting friendships and fun through playing golf.

Golf quote

Golf, like the measles, should be caught young, for, if postponed to riper years, the results may be serious. ~P.G. Woodhouse.
